French grunts (Haemulon flavolineatum) shoaling in a coral reef. This fish inhabits reefs in the western Atlantic Ocean, from South Carolina, USA, to Brazil. It commonly forms large shoals under corals, and feeds on small crustaceans. It can reach a length of around 30 centimetres. Photographed off Bonaire Island in the Netherlands Antilles, in the Caribbean Sea.
