Spiral galaxies (NGC 5965, lower right, and NGC 5963, upper centre), optical image. Located around 180 million light years from Earth in the constellation Draco, NGC 5965 is a faint spiral galaxy, seen here side-on. It has a diameter of around 320,000 light years. A dark dust lane is just visible as a reddish streak across the centre of the galaxy. NGC 5963 lies closer to Earth and is considerably smaller.
