Rooi Drom features on most Namibian maps and a visitor could be excused if he or she expected it to be an important centre. As it name implies, it is a 'Red Drum' set in mountainous desert scenery and marks an intersection of tracks at the southern end of Hartmann's Valley. This remote northwest corner of Namibia is a place of outstanding natural beauty.
