The rock paintings at Nyero in southeast Uganda are among the most interesting in East Africa. A large shelter wall displays concentric circles and what have been described as 'people sitting in canoes'. Though damaged by rain seepage, the bold red outlines are clearly visible; however, the chalky white pigment that once filled in these outlines has all but disappeared.
