Royal Hospital Chelsea. 18th century engraving of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London. The Royal Hospital was founded by King Charles II in 1682 as a retirement and nursing home for former soldiers. The Hospital continues this work to this day. The grounds host the annual Chelsea Flower Show.
