MODEL RELEASED. Volumatic asthma inhaler. A girl with asthma uses an aerosol inhaler (bottom right) with a volumatic" adaptor (bottom left) attached. She is using it outdoors. The inhaler spray is first delivered into the clear "volumatic" chamber. The spray can then be breathed in freely through the valve in the mouthpiece. Asthma is a disorder of the bronchial tubes which causes recurrent breathing difficulties. The inhaler relieves the sufferer with a dose of medication from the aerosol mechanism. Volumatic adaptors are often used by children as they find it difficult to inhale the dose in one breath."
