Tooth brushing. Toothpaste on a toothbrush in front of an X-ray image of a set of adult teeth which have undergone dental treatment. Tooth brushing removes plaque and food particles from the tooth surfaces, and prevents dental decay and gum disease. It should be carried out at least once a day using a fluoride toothpaste. The toothbrush should have an easy to grip handle and soft, round-ended bristles.
