They grip and walk, with a hand-over-hand bipedal gait, on the structure that they are constructing. A dedicated control system balances the load during walking. Multiple joints allow flexibility (11 degrees of freedom) when fixing a load. Skyworker was developed at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
