Trevithick memorial. The Richard Trevithick (1771-1833) monument at night. The monument is located in Gwalia Place, Merthyr Tydfyl, Wales. Trevithick designed and built the first high- pressured load-bearing locomotive, whose route passed through the square. A model of the locomotive is on top of the monument, this was refurbished in 2003.
