Steam locomotive drive shaft. Close-up of one of the drive shafts for steam locomotive K563. Built in 1899 by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen in Germany, this locomotive was used until the late 1940s by the Danish Royal Railroads (DSB). It is now maintained at the DSB museum, where volunteers manufacture the new parts needed for maintenance, including this drive shaft. Photographed in Randers, Denmark.
