Moosburg; Germany; detail of skeleton of St. Deodatus in casket. Little is know about the history of the relic; but it believed to be that of a St. Deodatus which is mentioned in old accounts of the city; and was presumed to be that of a martyr discovered in the Roman Catacombs. The skeleton is complete; but not normally viewable. At some time; probably in the mid-to-late 19th century; it was disassembled and placed in the green casket in which it is here shown; which is normally kept under a side altar at the Sankt Kastulus church.
