Srirangapatna (also: Shrirangapattana or Seringapatam); Karnataka; India; Daria Daulat Bagh (or Darya Daulat Bagh) summer palace (built 1784 under Tipu Sultan).Panorama; lower left section:Tipu Sultan's procession to the Battle of Pollilur. Elephants and camels are seen at the front and rear as in Haidar's procession and there are musicians with a variety of instruments. Among the contingents of foot soldiers; there is an elite battalion with tunics displaying the tiger stripe (bubri) insignia. Significantly more cavalry are depicted; both Mysorean and French (the French force attached to the Mysore court fought alongside Tipu and Haidar in the 2nd Anglo Mysore War). The French wear white trousers; red jackets and black hats with white aigrettes and Mons Lally is depicted bringing up the rear with a white plume on his tricorn hat.
