The General 's Place In just under a week the 11968 Winter Olympic games will be under way . Between now and next Tuesday the final touches will have been made , and all the building works totally completed to accomodate the thousands who will throng to this Olympic city in the Alps . One of the most important podiums currently under construction is the one from which French President De Gaulle will open the 10th Olympic Winter Games , inside the opening ceremony De Gaulle ' s podium will have a glass shield . 31st January 1968
