Jewels which in the past were worn by royalty and were the gifts of Kings are to be sold at Christie ' s in London next week . They are at present owned by a member of a foreign imperial family . The jewels include a gold snuff box , which the Prince Regent , afterwards King George IV , presented to the Princess de Lieven , wife of the Russian Ambassador to the court of St James in 1820 and an Empire gold bracelet , which belonged originally to the Duchess Auguste Amelie of Leuchtenberg , wife of Prince Eugene de Beauharnais who inherited it from his mother , the Empress Josephine . A diamond riviere given by the Empress Josephine to her daughter Hortense , who married Louis Bonoparte , King of the Netherlands will be sold at the same time .
