Olympic trials of the women ' s 100 meters back stroke , relay free style and men ' s 100 meters backstroke were a feature of the Uxbridge swimming club ' s annual gala held at the Uxbridge bathing pool , Park Road , Uxbridge . These trials were extras arranged because the championship final at Wembley were swum in yards , whereas all Olympic contests are swum over distances measured on the metric system .
