Lord Tweedsmuir, Canada's Governor-General visits President Roosevelt. A warm welcome was accorded Lord Tweedsmuir [John Buchan], the Governor-General of Canada, when he paid an official visit to President Roosevelt in Washington DC. Both the Senate and the House of Representatives were addressed by Lord Tweedsmuir, the two houses paying him the rare honour of going into recess. Speaking to the Senate, the Governor General, expressed the hope that Britain and America would think along the same lines in cooperation and friendship.
