The newly hatched ostrich chicks with the eggs from which they emerged. Two ostrich chicks believed to be the first ever bred in the country have been hatched at the Whipsnade zoo in a specially constructed incubator projects which have brown and grey plumage with striped next and large eyes stand about a foot high they are the offspring of a South African ostrich. 2 October 1937.
