Field Marshal Goering salutes air force men with his new Baton. Field Marshal Goering, the German Air Minister, carried for the first time his Field Marshal's baton, which had just been presented to him by Hitler, when he reviewed the Air Force guard of honour drawn up outside the Air Ministry in Berlin on 'Air Force Day', third anniversary of the appearance openly before the world of Germany's new Air Force. In a broadcast speech, Field Marshal Goering described the German air force as 'invincible and ruthless'. 2 March 1938
