Reginald Turner ( a 14 year old schoolboy of Ravensdene Wood in Kent ) saved the life of Dr J Littledale ( house surgeon of Canterbury Hospital ) when his plane crashed at Charing in Kent - but for the presence of mind of the boy Dr Littledale would have been burned to death - the doctor had just waved a greeting to his father as he passed over Charing in a private machine when the airplane nose-dived to the ground and burst into flames - the boy dashed up and without a moment's hesitation plunged into the wreckage and dragged Dr Littledale from the machine badly injured - photo shows Reginald Turner beside the wreckage of the machine May 4th 1933
