As the army flag March, held in London today to commemorate the anniversary of the D-Day was proceeding to Ludgate Hill, women demonstrators stepped off the pavement in front of the marching troops and opened their coats revealing the slogans reading "no more war" are "kids want peace" and "home not arms". The women spread across the road and held up the soldiers for some minutes until removed by police. 5 May 1949
