The loudest voices in England and Wales ran through the streets of the Cornish seaport of Fowey , when the town criers annual contest was revived for the first time since the war. Test piece for the competitiors was an old document in the town's archives, dated 1684, the flyover leading Burgesses of Fowey to a Royal writ Charles II, obliging them to say by what warrant they enjoy the privileges. The winner was Mr JSL Morris of Bodmin, Cornwall. Photo shows, the Mayor of Fowey, Ald, H Chandler, presenting the cut to the winner, Mr JSL Morris.
