Oxford Street freezes up. Traffic was still confined to one side of Oxford Street this morning (Friday), where snow, melting and freezing again, has covered the road surface with a thick layer of treacherous ice. Workmen out clearing the streets had to use pickaxes before they could take the frozen snow away.
