The trial of Thomas John Ley, 66, company director and a former minister of justice of New South Wales, of Beaufort gardens, Chelsea, and Lawrence John Smith, 38, joiner, of Belvoir road, East Dulwich, who are charged with the murder of John McMain Mudie, 35 year old barman, whose body was found in a chalk pit at welding in common, Surrey, entered its 2nd day at the Old Bailey today.
