A new picture of 33-year-old Geoffrey Stanley De Freitas, Labour MP for the the central Nottingham division, undersecretary of state for air. A barrister, Mr De Freitas was educated at Haileybury, Cambridge and Yale, USA. He joined the Labour Party in 1931 and worked for 2 years in the settlement and boys club at Hoxton. While that's the University of Cambridge, he won his athletics blue and was Pres of the Cambridge union. He volunteered for the RAF at the outbreak of war and was "Demobbed" in 1945 as a Squadron leader. 28 March 1947
