Unemployment rioting in London . After a rush by the crowd on Downing street preceded by a barrage of brick bats , stones and bits of iron : mounted police dispersing a riotous crowd in Whitehall. During the riots some forty people in the crowd were injured, of whom twenty were taken to hospital, and ten of the police. By five o'clock the rioters had scattered, and the procession marched away. As soon as the coal strike began , unemployment increased in various districts. 18 October 1920
