A Gift from Caesar - A Vision of Imperial Rome by Fortunino Matania. A Roman woman receives the gift of a tame leopard from Caesar. The interior of the palace exhibits the trademark meticulous detail Matania exhibited when recreating historical scenes in his paintings. The painting was exhibited at the RI Galleries in 1926 and again at Foyles Art Gallery, Charing Cross in September 1950. It was reproduced in The Sphere on 22 November 1926.
