It was at this meeting that Mao agreed to transfer 50 kg of uranium to Pakistan, thereby jump starting its nuclear programme and allowing Pakistan to later develop its first nuclear weapons in the 1980s. Mao Zedong (1893 - September 9, 1976), was a Chinese communist revolutionary who became the founding father of the People's Republic of China (PRC), which he ruled as the Chairman of the Communist Party of China from its establishment in 1949 until his death.
