Although attendance at the A.J.C. school for apprentice riders has been made voluntary for the duration of the war, there has not been a falling off in interest, and there was almost a full attendance at the prize-giving at Randwick racecourse last night. The Perkins Cup, awarded each year to the boy showing most progress, not necessarily as a rider, but in attendance, behaviour ***** development, was awarded to J. P. Hickey, who is ***** to his father, F. Hcikey. The boy,who is shown receiving the award from the vice-chairman of the A.J.C., Mr. A. G. Potter, who presided, hurt his arm on the track recently.
