In 1928; after a class trip to the British Museum in London they decided to focus on making jewellery. By 1927 thanks to support from Eva's father they founded their own workshop. Dr. Ulla St鰒er; executive director for the Gild Association (1945-1985) has written: "They overcame the general form and replaced it with subjective artistic beauty".
