The 8th Army's Recapture of Sollum - Ono man held up for a time by the break in the road out of Sollum whilst the commander of the 8th army, Lt. General Sir Bernard Montgomery, K.C.B. he improved the situation by sitting down to a pinic lunch. Hot on the hools of Rommel's flooing troops, the Eighth army swept into Sollum and up Halfaya pass a few miles away.
