Light micrograph of a nephrosclerosis, the process that occurs in a chronically damaged kidney. The kidney tubules (small pink circles) are atrophic and surrounded by chronic inflammatory cells (many small blue dots). The glomeruli (larger circular structures) are sclerotic and have been overtaken by fibrous (pink) deposits. Haematoxylin and eosin stained section. Magnification: x100 when printed at 10 cm.
