Lung cancer. Coloured X-ray showing growths (yellow) in both lungs that are most likely malignant (cancerous). Also seen are the ribs (horizontal bands) and the heart (cream, right of lower centre). The main cause of lung cancer is inhaling cigarette smoke. Symptoms of this type of cancer include chest pain, shortness of breath and a persistent cough. Treatment is with a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
