An annual Bengali Festival ?榁asanta Utsav?? heralds the coming of spring season & is an integral part of the Bengali culture. It was the great Nobel-laureate Rabindranath Tagore who, under the overwhelming influence of the colorful ?楬oli Festival??& the beautiful spring season on his poetic mind, introduced this lovely occasion as an annual event in his Bishwabharati University in Shantiniketan (West Bengal, India). Every year, the nation & international students of the institution, attired in colorful dresses like yellow, celebrate ?榁asanta Utsav??in a very special way. A number of cultural programs, including group choreography, songs & dance performances, is staged. The programs are followed by frolic, as all the students of the university & other foreign visitors smear each other with colored powders & express festive wishes.Since it?檚 inception, ?榁asanta Utsav??has become a milestone of Bengali culture & has also captured the international interest.
