Church exterior in Alajarvi, Finland. The present cross-shaped church with a central cupola was built in the years 1836-1841 by Heikki and Jaakko Kuorikoski according to the plan of the architect C.L. Engel. The church has about 1100 seats. It was restored in 1898, and then afterwards in the years 1996 and 1997. The altarpiece has been painted by the artist Verner Thom?, and it was donated to the church by the Thom? family in 1907.
