Negative stained Transmission Electron Micrograph (TEM) showing some of the morphological features displayed by a number of Simian virus 40 (SV40) virions. A polyomavirus, this orgamism is found in both monkeys and humans. At the core of this icosahedral virion there resides a double-stranded DNA genome.
