
St Michael's (Mykhailovsky) Cathedral with its many golden domes, in Mykhailivska Square, Kiev, Ukraine. Named after Kiev's patron saint, the Archangel Michael, it dates from the early 12th century, with later additions. Kiev is known as the city of 200 churches, the city of golden domes, and the Jerusalem of the lands of Rus.
