
Helsinki, the Finnish National Theatre in the center of Helsinki north of the main train station is the oldest theater with performances in Finnish and has 885 seats. It was built in 1902 by the architect Onni Tarjanne in the Art Nouveau style. In front of it on Rautatientori Square is a monument to the Finnish writer Aleksis Kivi.
