Replay by Yael Ronen at the Schaubuehne in Berlin. In 1988, an opera singer from the GDR stays in the West after a guest performance in Bayreuth, leaving her man and daughters behind in Dresden, which has a lasting impact on the familys life. After reunification, the sisters Lotte and Luise develop into opposing figures who repeat the conflicts and patterns of their childhood in a different form. Yael Ronens comedy Replay shows how the past repeats itself cyclically and influences generations. It asks whether we can free ourselves from old imprints or remain trapped in endless repetition loops.
