Brown-winged kingfisher (Pelargopsis amauroptera) perched on a branch. This chunky orange kingfisher has a relatively oversized head and a large scarlet bill. True to its common name, it is easily identified from its dark brown wings which no other kingfisher in its range possesses. It also has a bright blue-green patch on its rump which is most obvious in flight. It can be found in coastal habitats of the Bay of Bengal.
