Arctic terns (Sterna paradisaea) in flight. This medium-sized tern nests in colonies on sand. They are noisy in their colonies and, like most terns, will attack intruders threatening their young. he Arctic tern is greyer below, with very long tail streamers, and a short blood-red bill.
