Lieutenant Walter Coles Merry Folks, 1872. At the Egyptian Hall the interval between the two parts is agreeably filled up by a ventriloquial entertainment, in which Mr. Cole shows himself to be very apt in the art so efficiently exercised by Valentine Vox. Coles was a ventriloquist who used his abilities to make various characters speak during the show.
