
Frederic Joliot, French physicist. Joliot (1900-1958) became assistant to Marie Curie in 1925. In 1926 he married Maries daughter Irene and in 1935 shared with her the Nobel prize for Chemistry for their work on the synthesis of new radioactive elements. (Colorised black and white print).
