India: Abul Kalam Azad, (1888 - 1958), popularly known as Maulana Azad, an Islamic theologian, seen with Mahatma Gandhi (r) in a frieze at Maulana Abdul Kalam Memorial Park, Madanpura, Mumbai. Abul Kalam Azad was one of the leaders of the Indian independence movement against British rule in the first half of the 20th century. He was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and died in New Delhi, India.
