Japan: Small temple dedicated to Maso, goddess of the sea, Sofuku-ji, Obaku Zen temple, Nagasaki, Kyushu. The temple, an example of Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644), southern Chinese architecture, dates from 1629 and was built by a Chinese monk named Chaonian.
