India: A man carries a heap of crates on his head amid the brisk activity, wheeling and dealing, at the Old Port, a fishing harbor in Mangalore (Mangaluru), Karnataka, South India. Early morning when the fishing trawlers return to base, small- and big-time traders gather to claim their share of the days catch. The fishermen are usually Muslims and communicate in Beary or Byari language, a mix of Malayalam and Tulu (the latter spoken in the Mangalore and Udipi area).
